WARNING - 1st class participation is mandatory for this course!

Hello & Welcome to the Negotiation Dynamics 3-Day Course!

 Dear Participants,

We are very excited about this course and the high number of participants really interested in the subject of negotiation. In order to make this a successful experience for all of us, we would like to call your attention to two important issues:

1.     First class participation and being on time are both mandatory for this course!  NO exceptions will be granted.  Failure to comply with this rule will mean that you are automatically dropped from the course.

2.    Negotiation exercises & Assignments: You will be given cases to negotiate during class throughout the 3-days. At the end of Days 1& 2, you will be given assignments to be submitted before the beginning of the next day classes.

a)   Negotiation instructions & pairings:  The negotiation role-play confidential instructions are not included in your course pack so they will be distributed during class. The pairings of the cases will also be announced during class.

b)  Preparation Sheet: Though you will have prepared for a role-play during class time, you will only have about 30-40mins to do so. After you debrief the case in class, we want you to go back to that preparation sheet and "complete" it with your hindsight.

c)  Debrief: To help you reflect and learn from your role-plays, you are required to submit a debrief on your learnings as well as provide feedback on your counterparty(s) to help them improve their self-awareness and performance. You can choose to do a debrief of 1 of the 3 cases that you will be negotiating in class.

d)  Journal: You can choose on any on-going negotiation topics from around the world for your final journal submission. The journal should consist the description & analysis of the problem as well your recommendations and should not be longer than 4 pages.

e)   Submissions of Assignments: Do submit your relevant assignments as per the deadlines stipulated below.

Please contact us at Submissions.NEGO@insead.edu if you need any assistance.

Good luck and we hope you will enjoy the course.

Horacio
